Had a great time at the Curborough Twisty Sprint near Lichfield in July 29-30 when Neil gave our KTM RC 390 an outing.
Part of the British Motorcycle Hillclimb Championship (although Curborough is flat!), it really is a ‘run what you brung’ event featuring every sort of bike from bog standard road bikes that had been ridden there, to vintage machines and motocrossers fitted with road tyres, while the quick boys are armed with big bore supermotards.
Our KTM wasn’t in the running against the specialised mounts, but we were happy enough to cut our lap time by three seconds over the weekend’s four practice and four competition runs and to score a few points in the ‘Road Legal’ class. It doesn’t sound much, but it’s pretty intense stuff once the light turns green.
If you fancy a go at hillclimbing yourself, take a look at the organising club’s website at https://www.nhca.co.uk/introduction or get in touch with us. We’ll be out there again sometime soon and would be happy to help customers get their bikes to the start line. After that, it’s down to you to set the timing lights on fire! …..
